About the Position:

This role is an on-campus, in-person position. The Assistant Aquatics Director is responsible for assisting the Aquatics Director in the support of day-to-day operations of the Robson and Lindley Aquatics Center and Barr-McMillan Natatorium/Holt Hickman Outdoor Pool, including coordinating and implementing all operational, logistical, and technical efforts related to the facilities.

Essential Functions:

Assist Aquatics Director with facility and pool maintenance.

Assist with scheduling and coordination of outside groups.

Assist with operations of competition, including setup and teardown of meet equipment, entries, and conduct of each session.

Assist with camps, including registration and overall operations of camps and lessons.

In the absence of the Aquatics Director, serve as lead point of contact for daily pool operations/scheduling.

Position requires regular evening or weekend work for competition and events.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree is required. A minimum of one year of work experience is required, preferably in operations for a swim program.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Candidate must demonstrate strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate broadly across the University and develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of constituencies. Strong written communication skills and a strong customer service orientation are essential.

Candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and analyze problems, as well as devise solutions. Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills are essential, along with a strong focus on attention to detail.

CPO and MPO certification are required. A working knowledge of an NCAA Division I Swimming and Diving program is preferred. A working knowledge of Meet Manager and Colorado Gen7 is also preferred.

Physical and Environmental Demands:

Sit for long periods of time.

Bend, squat, stand, crawl, climb, kneel.

Reach above shoulders.

Handle objects (dexterity).

Carry/lift over 50 lbs.
