Provide leadership, direction, and execution of the global strategic plan for Medtronic Supply Chain Logistics and Transportation. Proactively engage with supply chain and business leaders, employees, suppliers, and carriers to achieve world-class quality, service, and cost for Transportation programs. Lead the team to effectively utilize logistics analytics, standardize work, and drive continuous improvement to achieve global supply department objectives.

A Day in the Life

Drive standardization of processes to achieve “One Best Way” of measuring Medtronic KPIs and Metrics

Monitor and report on global transportation KPIs, build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners to ensure quality, service, and spend targets are met

Collaborate across all Medtronic operations to meet business and geography goals in transportation and logistics

Deliver on short-term and long-term objectives, timelines, milestones, and budgets for successful transportation programs

Collaborate with Operation Units, Regions, Customer Service, Sourcing, Quality, Distribution, Sales Operations, Manufacturing, Planning, and Finance to achieve cost, service, and quality optimization across the supply chain

Support the deployment and implementation of the Global TMS and help with the development of global transportation analytics and KPIs

Drive focused collaboration with business groups/units on AOP and forecast accuracy

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree required

Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in transportation 3PL partnership, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in transportation 3PL partnership

Nice to Have

3PL or Transportation partner knowledge across multiple regions or countries

Experience with global transportation or warehousing processes

Experience in logistics optimization, supply chain operations/management

Creative thinker with strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical reasoning skills

Working knowledge of national and international dangerous goods regulations

Experience managing and leading cross-functional teams without direct reporting relationships

Strong interpersonal and influence management skills

Strong written and oral communication skills

Discretion with confidential or sensitive information

Capable of multitasking and working with changing priorities and deadlines

Demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence Global BU, Regional, and Site contacts who have transportation responsibilities

Consistent application of change management, project management leadership, and application of continuous process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and other improvement techniques

Familiarity with TMS, WMS, SAP distribution, and transportation system capabilities

Experience working in a shared services organization

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD): $76,000.00 - $114,000.00. This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP). The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
