Cultural Resources SpecialistPosition SummaryThe Cultural Resource Specialist will conduct fieldwork, construction site monitoring, as well as identifying effects on cultural resources from construction or other activities.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist with planning events such as Pow wow’s, Salmon Ceremony, ground breakings and ground openings.Coordinate craft classes.Assist in teaching cultural activities.Tribal community outreach.Assist with preparing for all of the events and ceremonies.Maintain inventory of giveaways.Field work.Conduct site visits to known Stillaguamish sites as needed.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNo supervisory responsibilities.Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.Ability to gather and analyze information skillfully and maintain confidentiality.Ability to work well with others in a kind and respectful manner.Must exhibit openness to learning and experiencing cultural practices.Ability to clearly and persuasively communicate in positive or negative situations and demonstrate group presentation skills.Ability to edit work for spelling and grammar, present numerical data effectively and read and interpret written information.Ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently.Ability to demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, and monitor own work to ensure quality.Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and deal with frequent changes.Work EnvironmentThe worker is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions.
