Barings’ Enterprise Data group is seeking a skilled and versatile professional to join our team as a Business Analyst and a Scrum Master. This dual-role position requires strong understanding and experience within the Asset Management Industry. As a Business Analyst, you will be primarily supporting our Data Architecture (databases) and Data Engineering teams deliver value to the organization, working closely with various business partners within the firm to understand their needs, translate them to technology terms, and help to facilitate validation. Additionally, you will support with triaging issues reported by end-users, identifying and planning for dependencies. As a Scrum Master, you will be responsible for facilitating Scrum ceremonies and effectively organizing our development backlog to align to our strategic goals, ensuring successful delivery of projects. As we are a global firm, you will be working closely with our current Scrum Master based in Europe and providing coverage over US hours to ensure seamless collaboration across the team.Primary Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the business to gather and analyze business requirementsTranslate business needs into clear, detailed user stories with acceptance criteria routed towards the appropriate development teamsWork closely with developers and business stakeholders to ensure accurate implementation of new featuresHelp provide a layer of governance to ensure visibility of changes and relevant sign offs have been receivedFacilitate efficient collaboration across database development teams, identifying dependencies between data storesTriage and prioritize issues identified by end-users, including data analysis using SQL, providing timely resolutions, as well as identifying patterns and trends to find long term solutions to problemsAssist with managing the development backlog within Azure DevOps, ensuring alignment with business prioritiesCoordinate with vendor partners (Aladdin, eFront, DealCloud, Refinitiv, etc.) to support development teams, investigate issues, and ensure processes function as expectedPerform ad-hoc data analysis in partnership with the Data Management function ensuring data integrity across business functionsCreate documentation as required such as data flow diagrams and business processesLead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and resolve impediments hindering team progressTrack team performance using Agile metrics and provide regular reports and updates to management and stakeholdersCoach team members on Agile methodologies, promote continuous improvement practices, facilitate workshops and training sessions, and foster a collaborative, self-organizing team environmentQualifications

Proven experience (4+ years) as a Business Analyst or similar role in the Asset Management industrySolid understanding and proficiency in SQL to recreate and support resolution of bugsExperience working with at least 1 of the following: Aladdin Data Cloud, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, and/or DataBricksAn understanding of how data is used for client reporting would be beneficialStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detailExperience using Azure DevOps or other similar tools, Agile methodologies / other frameworks e.g. Kanban, and running scrum ceremoniesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levelsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and manage multiple prioritiesA bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field is preferredBarings is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer; Minority/Female/Age/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity/Individual with Disability/Protected Veteran.
