GENERAL SUMMARY:

This is a salaried position in City of Industry, CA that reports to the Sr. VP of Sales & Marketing. The Key Account Manager is the chief liaison between GFF, Inc. and top-tier single-serve customers in the Retail segment. This role facilitates profitable growth of GFF business with key accounts by reinforcing and leveraging GFF’s unique market position as the "innovation solution." The Key Account Manager coordinates project activity and builds relationships between GFF and customers regarding promotions, new product development, and maintaining a superior level of service. Using primary and secondary research and insights, this position engages with current and new customers to jointly develop new opportunities for market expansion. The role also involves expanding the single-serve and national account customer base by creating "new-to-the-world" food innovations and offering menu analysis and suggestions via culinary presentations.

SCOPE OF JOB FUNCTION

Maintain ongoing dialogue with key members of customer’s Purchasing, Marketing, and R&D teams to ensure alignment of objectives and expectations.

Serve as liaison between customer and GFF’s R&D, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams.

Facilitate top-to-top interface between CEO and appropriate members of customer’s team.

Working with VP of Sales, develop annual business plan, revenue, and profitability targets for each key account to ensure continued, profitable growth.

Develop and monitor KPIs which ensure achievement of both short- and long-term customer and GFF business objectives.

Create and update forecasts for each customer on a regular basis.

Monitor customer and product segment trends to ensure that GFF’s capabilities and capacity are maintained ahead of customer needs.

Act as Project Manager/Team Leader to support new market launches, new product development, and seasonal promotional activity.

Expand Single Serve and Foodservice customer base by seeking out new opportunities with current and new customers.

Review customer menus and products and offer/create new food innovations via culinary presentations to customers.

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.

Handle customer needs, being the main point of contact for client concerns and needs.

Set sales targets for teams to meet.

Develop sales strategies to increase volume.

Track progress, monitor sales performance forecasting, and make regular reports.

Recommend new applications and sales strategies.

Introduce and inform clients about new products and services.

Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements to maximize profit.

Represent the company at conferences and trade shows.

Perform other duties as required.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED:

BA/BS Degree in Business or equivalent work experience.

10 years plus proven sales results and sales management experience in consumer-packaged goods companies.

Experience in perishable goods and/or prepared salad industry is a big plus.

Experience in a similar role as Key Account Manager with large strategic customers.
