Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.Primary ResponsibilitiesHDR is currently seeking a CAD/BIM Specialist to join our Madison, WI or our Minneapolis, MN office. The primary duties of the CAD/BIM Specialist are to support the Bridge Section with the production of drawings, layouts, sketches, and graphic representations of engineering designs using computer-aided design software with occasional assistance from supervisors, engineers, and project managers. Secondary duties include quantity take-offs, plan sheet production, field investigations and inspections, and supporting other Transportation sections with engineering tasks.Required QualificationsAssociate or technical school degree in engineering, construction management, computer programming, information technology or related fieldA minimum of 3 years experience in civil and structural design with BIM programsStrong conceptual, organizational, problem solving, and collaboration skillsSelf-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skillsA willingness to work on a variety of transportation-related projects across multiple business lines including office work and field inspectionsAbility to work independently and as part of a team, under broad direction from a Project Engineer or Project Manager on various planning and design projectsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustProficiency using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStationInterest and enthusiasm to learn other CAD and BIM softwareKnowledge of Microsoft Office softwarePreferred Qualifications1 year of experience in Engineering or Construction related industry.Experience in construction inspection or field assignmentsExperience with 3D modeling and BIM for Infrastructure using Bentley or Autodesk Products is a bonus.Why HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for it's also about what you do and how you do it.
