Chance to do work you are passionate aboutJob SecurityDesire to give backTHE CITY OF WACO SEEKS:The ideal candidate for this position is skilled in Geographical Information Systems software and will communicate effectively with the public, developers, and other stakeholders.Minimum QualificationsBachelor's Degree In Urban Planning, Business, Geography, Architecture, Public Administration, or a related fieldOne year of customer service, planning, or related experienceOr an equivalent combination of education and experienceMust possess a valid Texas Driver's LicensePosition OverviewUnder basic supervision, assists with various basic municipal planning projects for the Planning Services Department (PSD); assists PSD staff with planning, zoning, and transportation issues.Position ResponsibilitiesResearches and compiles data for urban planning projects, including plan review, zoning, subdivision plats, Historic Landmark Preservation Commission (HLPC), Plan Commission permits, and ordinances; duties may vary according to job assignment.Provides customer service and answers inquiries on City standards and regulations; assists advisory boards and commissions; provides information and recommendations within the scope of authority.Creates and updates maps and data files using Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software.
