Job Summary:

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing the procurement process of goods and services to meet the company's operational and strategic goals. This role involves developing and implementing purchasing strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring that the procurement process is efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy: Develop and execute purchasing strategies to achieve cost savings and improve procurement efficiency.

Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.

Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure favorable conditions for the company.

Order Management: Oversee the purchasing process, including order placement, tracking, and receipt of goods and services. Ensure timely and accurate delivery.

Inventory Control: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained and avoid overstock or stockouts.

Budget Management: Manage and adhere to the procurement budget. Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.

Compliance: Ensure that all procurement activities comply with the company Quality Management System, policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.

Data Analysis: Analyze procurement data and market trends to make informed decisions and forecast future purchasing needs.

Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as finance, operations, and production to align purchasing activities with company objectives and requirements.

Reporting: Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, supplier performance, and cost savings to senior management.

Management: Supervise the purchasing, stockroom and shipping departments. Includes providing selection assessment, training, development, work direction, and coaching of the departments.

ERP Management: Responsible for ERP/MRP management.

Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

Professional certification (e.g., Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) is a plus.)

Preferred Experience/Skills:

Experience as a Purchasing Manager or similar role, with a track record of successful procurement and supplier management.

Professional certification (e.g., Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).

Required Skills/Abilities:

Due to ITAR Restrictions, US Citizenship or green card is required.

ERP experience in manufacturing environment required.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Strong negotiation and organizational skills; attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.

Prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
