Position Summary:

The QA Manager is responsible for overseeing our QA program and ensuring product specifications and testing plans are adequate to control product quality, reliability, and performance. This role involves collaborating with the QA Engineers, Product Engineers (PE), Program Managers (PM), Sourcing Team, and Compliance Team throughout various stages of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). This role will be responsible for establishing and managing the critical to quality (CTQ) documentation process, creation of CTQ documents for new and existing products, and working through issues identified during pre-shipment inspections (PSIs) at our contract manufacturing partners. We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in quality control and quality documentation. Specifically, working in an in-house manufacturing and/or contract manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Manage 1 or more QA engineers.

· Own the QA process and ensure the correct policies and procedures are in place.

· Work closely with the QA engineer, PE, and PM to develop Critical to Quality (CTQ) metrics and product specifications for new product development, as well as revisions and additions to existing products.

· Create comprehensive quality control documentation, including pre-shipment inspection templates, control plans, and product specification documents, based on CTQs and product specifications for each product.

· Facilitate reviews of CTQ and product specification documentation with relevant stakeholders to ensure that adequate controls are in place to meet customer expectations.

· Upload and manage all relevant CTQ and product specification documentation within our project management system, Wrike, ensuring effective distribution and accessibility to all pertinent teams.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering (e.g. mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing), quality assurance, or a related field.

· 3+ Years of experience creating and managing quality assurance in either a manufacturing or contract manufacturing environment.

· Experience developing QA policies and procedures required.

· Understanding of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), and/or Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) preferred.

· Experience in statistical analysis and quality improvement techniques, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Total Quality Management (TQM) preferred.

· Familiarity with inspection methods, testing procedures, and the use of measurement tools (e.g. calipers, micrometers, CMM machines, etc.)

· Strong analytical skills for identifying and preventing potential quality-related issues.

· Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.

· Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS) and quality control tools such as SPC, Minitab, or similar software is not required, but would be a major plus.

· Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with and manage cross-functional teams.

· Proficiency in using project management tools, preferably Wrike.

· Ability to develop and interpret technical documents such as specifications, engineering drawings, datasheets, etc.

· Confident working both independently and in a team environment.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
