The UNM Health Sciences Sponsored Projects Office (SPO) operates under the direction of HSC Financial Services. We are a central administration office that provides support to the Health Science Center. Our mission is to support research by providing guidance, administration, and oversight for extramural sponsored projects. We interpret University policy, sponsor guidelines, and relevant federal and state laws, acting as the official liaison between HSC departments and sponsoring agencies. SPO plays a crucial role in facilitating research administration and compliance for the Health Sciences Center.This is an intermediate staff level position in a sponsored research office and will mostly focus in the area of data use agreements and unfunded agreements. This position will support one or more functional areas including, but not limited to: funding information; regulatory compliance; proposal review, approval and processing; award negotiation and acceptance (including contracts, subcontracts, material transfer agreements, and data use agreements); and award setup. This is a core function with university wide scope.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with grant reviews to include budget development and thorough evaluation against a funding announcement.Experience reviewing, drafting, negotiating, or interpreting contracts.Familiarity with Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in the use of data transfers for research purposes.Experience with Huron Click Electronic Research Administration Database.Strong customer service skills and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with faculty and scientific, management, technical and other staff from R&D, academic, public and private sector environments.Attention to detail and keen organizational skills.Knowledge of UNM Business Policies & Procedures related to Health Sciences Center sponsored project administration.Ability to work independently and as a team member in a complex, multi-deadline work environment.Ability to use sound judgement in complex situations.Additional Information:Campus: HSCDepartment: Pre-Award Services HSC (962A)Employment Type: StaffStaff Type: Regular - Full-TimeStatus: ExemptPay: Monthly: $4,073.33 - $5,721.73Benefits Eligible: This is a benefits eligible position.
