Plant Manager

MUST HAVE FOOD MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE

The Plant Manager is responsible for all operational activities within the facility, ensuring all departments adhere to safety and quality initiatives, while driving consistent delivery of finished products. This individual will partner with the leaders of Safety, Quality, Human Resources, Customer Service, Sales, and Finance to achieve desired business results.

Educational Requirements:

Four-year BS or BA degree or equivalent experience is required. SQF experience required with SQF practitioner certification a plus (must be willing to assume the practitioner role for the facility and certify if necessary). Food industry manufacturing experience is also required.

Excellent communication skills required, including active listening and effective speaking.

Job Responsibilities:

Providing day-to-day leadership and setting strategy, KPI’s, and deliverables for continuous improvement in safety, customer experience/quality, food safety, production, reliability, and profitability.

Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives.

Participates in formulating and administering company policies, directing and coordinating all department activities to develop and implement long-range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives.

Planning, scheduling, and reviewing workload to ensure production output and on-time delivery targets are achieved cost-effectively.

Oversees key projects, processes, and performance reports.

Track unit costs compared to plan assuring that profits meet or exceed expectations.

Provides leadership for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.

Manage stock control to ensure raw material and product is receipted, located, stored, and transferred correctly and that the company’s stock inventory is correct and accurate.

Promoting and developing an open and inclusive work environment where employees are engaged and involved in developing the plant operational plan.
