Lead Cheesemaker - Alemar Cheese

As we continue to expand, we are seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join us as our Lead Cheesemaker.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the production of high-quality artisanal cheeses, ensuring adherence to established recipes and processes.
Lead a team of cheesemaking assistants and provide guidance and training as needed.
Monitor and maintain cheese aging rooms, including temperature and humidity control.
Collaborate with sales and marketing to develop new cheese varieties and flavors.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
Operate and maintain cheese production equipment, including pasteurizers, vats, boiler, compressor, presses, and packaging machinery.
Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure consistency and excellence in cheese production.
Manage inventory of cheese ingredients and supplies.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to promote Alemar Cheese products, including being available for events occasionally.
Requirements:
Previous experience in cheese production, preferably soft-ripened cheeses.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to comfortably lift 50 pounds on a regular basis; this is a physical job!
Understanding of food safety practices and ability to maintain a clean work environment.
Familiarity with food processing techniques and industry standards.
Strong leadership/management skills.
Welcome Skills:
Strong mechanical knowledge for operating and troubleshooting cheese production equipment.
Forklift certification or ability to operate a forklift.
Milk Bulk Hauler license.
Steam Boiler Operator license.
