Carlyle Office7475 State Route 127Carlyle, IL 62231, USAThe Nutrition and Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for supporting the Company’s nutrition and feed management program and feed quality assurance program (QMS) aimed at supporting a best-in-class swine nutrition strategy. The position oversees the development and implementation of standard operating procedures for ingredient quality control, feed formulation, feed manufacturing, and finished product quality across the Company’s feed mill network. This role leads the execution of the QMS within Nutrition Operations supporting the Company’s objectives encompassing ingredient selection, processing, and finished feed. This role provides nutritional technical support and leadership regarding problem-solving initiatives in collaboration with Production, Nutrition Operations, and the Company’s support functions. This position leads and supports the execution of research initiatives focused on nutrition and feed management practices and leads the implementation of nutritional strategies as a result of research efforts.Duties and Functions:Support a systems-level diet best-cost formulation platform across the Company’s mills and toll mills, that achieves biological and economic performance targets according to the Company’s objectives.Support the nutrition program through maintenance of ingredient nutrient matrix, laboratory information management system, ingredient pricing analysis, and feed mill ingredient sourcing selection and approval.Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external feed mill stakeholders regarding diet formulation, ingredients (source and quality), feed manufacturing process, and quality of feed.Management and reporting of data related to ingredient quality, pricing, feed nutritional and process quality to include routine diet cost analysis according to program and business objectives.Actively participate with production operations on in-field problem-solving initiatives from a nutritional standpoint working collaboratively across business support functions.Participate in development and maintenance of nutrition-based biological and financial models working collaboratively with other disciplines (i.e. R&D, Genetics, and Health) and business units.Assist with the training of animal feeding programs that improve the efficiency and welfare of the Company’s animals and assist with the development of technical capacity across the system.Provide administrative management oversight to the quality management system for Nutrition Operations based on current good manufacturing practices in accordance with State and Federal regulations (FSMA).Ensure that all procedures within feed production facilities conform to feed safety regulations and educate stakeholders regarding specific requirements for feed safety compliance.Work collaboratively with the Nutrition Operations team to train and promote continuous improvement of the quality management system and quality control programs for feed production facilities.Actively participate in the development and implementation of a comprehensive quality assurance program that enhances production quality for Company and toll mill operations while maintaining biological outputs.Monitor feed mill compliance and performance and minimize risk through routine quality key performance indicators reporting and internal audit processes.Audit quality processes and systems while ensuring corrective actions are taken at feed production facilities.Develop and maintain information systems for the quality assurance program to include ingredient and feed sample and processing procedures that includes external laboratory submissions, analytical results summary, and analysis to ensure product quality.Minimum QualificationsEducation:

Masters of Science in Animal ScienceExperience:
