Assistant Director of Student Involvement

at Saint Mary’s College is a vital member of the Division of Student Enrollment & Engagement. Reporting to the Director of Student Involvement, this position is responsible for creating, implementing and executing a variety of social and cultural activities for students that deepen belonging, support personal growth and add fun and joy to their college experience.

Job Description

The Assistant Director of Student Involvement will create and maintain a well-rounded student activities program that provides social, educational, recreational and cultural programs. The role includes creating and implementing new campus-wide “signature” events and Welcome Week events.

The Assistant Director will oversee large scale programming and initiatives, including Student Leader Training, Belles Beginnings, Senior Dad Week, Junior Mom Week, and Senior Week. The position involves building and maintaining strong partnerships with student leaders, student organizations, and campus partners, as well as coordinating Student Center programming with Residence Life, Student Enrollment & Engagement Leadership, Center for Faith, Action & Ministry, and Diversity, Inclusion & Equity.

Additionally, the Assistant Director will coordinate Mother Pauline Pantry efforts, oversee student workers, lead social media efforts for the Office of Student Involvement, assess events, seek student feedback, and prepare reports from data gathered.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in a related field

Commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds and commitment to cultural competency

Experience creating and planning large scale events

Ability to collaborate and build relationships with students, faculty, and staff

Possesses flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adjust quickly to changing needs on a daily basis

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to apply strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills

Ability to work evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree

A degree with an emphasis in event management, college student personnel, student affairs, or other related areas is preferred

1-2 years' experience in student activities, leadership development and/or campus programming

Schedule

40 Hours/ 12 Months/ Monday – Friday
