Creighton University in Omaha, NE is seeking to hire an Assistant Director of Recreation Operations in Student Life.

Assistant Director is responsible for the development and oversight of the open recreation, membership services, recreational facility operations and maintenance and day-to-day operations Kiewit Fitness Center. Responsible for the training and mentoring of 60+ student staff working as operations attendants, building supervisors, office assistants and program managers. This role will develop positive relationships with Housing and Auxiliary Services, Public Safety, Facilities and equipment vendors to ensure that facility access, safety and needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

Hire, Train, Supervise and Manage Open Recreation and Membership Services program and student staff (60+)

Liase with Housing and Auxiliary Services, Public Safety, Athletics, and other University offices to ensure recreational spaces, equipment and operational needs are met.

Coordinate emergency training program to help prepare department staff for various emergency and non-emergency situations.

Provide logistical support for University, Divisional and Departmental events that occur in recreation facilities; Events include University Welcome, Academic Ceremonies, Summer Camp Operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

2 Years of related experience.

CPR, First Aid, AED certification required (or willingness to obtain within first 60 days of employment).

CPR, First Aid, AED instructor certification required (or willingness to obtain within first year of employment).

Experience with the NIRSA preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of facility operations and special events.
