We are seeking an experienced and skilled Maintenance Officer to join our Tassal team based in Cone Bay, WA. We are looking for someone who is a strong team player & focused on maintaining a culture of safety for themself and the team.

Cone Bay

You will be working on the beautiful Turtle Island in the remote coastlines of the Buccaneer Archipelago. Tassal provides accommodation, a gym and all meals on the island, and we provide transport from Broome to the island.

What does role involve?

As a Maintenance Officer at our barramundi farm in Cone Bay, you will need to be a “jack of all trades” and will spend your days working on both land and sea. While a trade qualification is beneficial, extensive hands-on experience is highly valued. This role requires a deep understanding of engines and boats, as well as skills in welding, fitting, fabricating, and a bit of machining. General servicing and low voltage electrical work are also part of the job. The Maintenance Officer will spend a significant amount of time carrying out planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns and ensuring that resources and equipment run smoothly with minimal downtime.

Reporting to the maintenance manager, this role will suit a proactive, hands-on enthusiastic person who takes pride in their work and sets themselves high standards. You will be exposed to a diverse and exciting range of duties, perfect for a self-motivated and technically minded individual.

Requirements:

Mechanical trade qualified or proven experience with mechanical work.

Previous experience as a Maintenance Officer or similar role.

Experience with Diesel mechanics, Automotive or Fabrication.

Experience in 12V electrical, hydraulics, and welding will be advantageous.

Proven experience in finding mechanical faults.

Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements.

Current drivers’ licence.

Strong communication skills.

Rights to work in Australia.

Successfully pass pre-employment medical and drug test.
