From urban education to student affairs, educational policy to human development, and quantitative evaluation to teaching and learning, our programs draw on dynamic instruction, multidisciplinary curriculum, and hands-on classroom experience to prepare graduates for successful careers.Claremont Graduate University is seeking a highly professional and experienced individual to serve as a graduate recruiter for the School of Educational Studies, Teacher Education program.The primary role of the assistant director position is to generate high volumes of prospective student interest for the university through recruitment strategy and best practices. The candidate will be responsible for delivering the highest level of customer service in order to broadly attract interest to the university's programs and offerings.In addition to core recruitment responsibilities, the candidate will also be responsible for admissions responsibilities including managing application files through the review process to successful completion, commitment, and ultimately the enrollment of new students.This role represents all programs of the university while maintaining a special focus that is assigned based on the needs of the academic units.Assignment will support recruitment and admissions activities for both Graduate and International Admissions through to student enrollment, including assisting with the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) communication plan, application review, and processing of admissions and fellowship decisions, as well as serving as a liaison to the offices of financial aid and admissions. The position is responsible for collaborating with departments across campus to support recruitment and enrollment initiatives.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Gain fluency in communicating the components, culture, and values of the programs being supported.

Provide hyper-responsive and relational communication and support to potential and current applicants.

In consultation with supervisor, develop, present, and implement annual recruitment plans for designated academic programs / schools that highlight the benefits and outcomes of the offerings; provide creative and cost-effective ideas to innovate recruitment strategy.

Execute weekly activity reports for the Director of Admissions & Recruitment and academic stakeholders that detail the recruitment activities of the week as aligned with the overall recruitment plan.

Utilize weekly activity reports to track and inform on the number of inquiries generated and successful contact made with focus on admissions funnel development from application start through enrollment.

Create and maintain annual goal tracking documents that monitor progress of the admissions funnel; highlighting progress and areas of improvement and escalating areas of concern that need attention and action.

Communicate with prospective students and applicants through extensive use of phone, email, text, and in-person or virtual appointments. A typical work will consist of:75% of time dedicated to daily outreach correspondence, active recruiting, participation in recruitment events, and application progress and management.

25% of time dedicated to strategic recruitment planning and execution both individually and collectively with focus on increased conversion of enrollments.

Records, updates, and analyzes recruiting data for various programs and recruitment marketing initiatives; is able to capture ROI from targeted outreach events; is able to utilize campus technology solutions to track and benchmark critical data.

Utilize the university's CRM system to manage application files through the review process to completion by contacting applicants who are missing documents, congratulating new applicants, admitted students, and deposited students. Engaging admitted students until the start of the enrollment term to prevent melt, responding with immediacy to the needs of the students.

Assists in identifying qualified potential applicants; evaluate candidates for necessary skills and qualification for the university's graduate level programs; advise prospective students on financial aid, institutional funding options and external funding resources.

Ensure the accuracy of data for prospects, inquiries and applicants for correspondence and database purposes.

Coordinates both on and off campus recruiting activities such as presentations, career fairs, office and campus interviews, Grad Fairs, conferences, businesses, churches, and educational and community groups to generate new interest and cultivate continued interest with existing prospects.

Continually works to enhance school brand and reputation; assists in the development and support of diversity recruiting efforts across targeted campuses; initiate relationships with niche student organizations and ensures we are achieving our diversity outreach objectives.

Establishes relationships with Campus Student Success Offices (career offices, writing centers, student engagement etc.), faculty, and current students and initiates activities on campus to promote CGU at selected universities including but not limited to advertising, career fairs, information sessions, speaker series events and on-campus interviews; cultivates ongoing relationship building with current students to help achieve campus recruiting vision; develops new and innovative methods to differentiate CGU from peer schools / Universities.

Makes recommendations for marketing strategies to enhance recruitment and enrollment efforts.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:Individual must possess knowledge, skills and ability to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.Experience as admissions counselor for graduate programs preferred. Should have experience with application management and an enterprise database.

Excellent project management skills; demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills (verbal and written).

Ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team.

Demonstrated leadership and team-building abilities.

Proficient in MS Office/systems (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint). PeopleSoft and CRM proficiency preferred.

Ability to understand, adapt, and articulate CGU's culture to an external audience.

Demonstrated knowledge and sensitivity to working with diverse populations.

QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in a related field, Master's degree preferred or any combination of education and experience that provides the required skills and ability. Minimum of three years of experience in university admissions and recruitment or a similar recruitment setting. Must have a willingness to travel as needed during peak recruiting seasons. Must possess a valid California Driver's License and meet CGU's authorized driver's requirements.LICENSES / CERTIFICATES

: This is an exempt position with regular hours set for 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Additional hours will be required on weekends and evenings and periodic travel through the year may be assigned.
