Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced candidate to add to our equipment manufacturing team to ensure our supply chain and logistics operations function properly. In this role, you'll collaborate with other departments, such as Operations, Sales, and Finance, to create effective business plans, so teamwork skills are important. You should also have experience in project management, as well as great leadership and communication ability.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement safety guidelines in all aspects of the supply chain (e.g. use of trucks, forklifts).Develop and implement processes to overcome supply chain challenges.Own all physical inventory and cycle counting activities to maintain inventory accuracy.Adjust, reconcile, and manage all inventory including activities such as receiving and shipping.Develop and maintain detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the company, at sites, and in the factory.Establish performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.Monitor the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identify and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.Maintain required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.Analyze current inventories and procedures; suggest improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.Develop policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implement subsequent changes to processes.Identify optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution.Identify inventory and vendor trends to avoid disruptions to manufacturing.Assess the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; make recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.Negotiate prices for raw materials and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.Analyze data from shipping and delivery processes to find bottlenecks and other issues.Monitor logistics to ensure they run smoothly.Train and guide employees.Find cost-effective solutions for supply chain processes.Resolve issues that arise (e.g. delays in delivery, accidents).Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth.Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards.Perform other related duties as assigned.Requirements and SkillsExcellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.Hands-on experience with supply chain management software.Extremely knowledgeable of supply chain processes.Strong supervisory and leadership skills.Excellent organizational and project management skills.A strategic and analytical mind.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Thorough understanding of company products and logistics.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company's success.Critical thinker and problem-solver.Team player.Good time-management skills.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Business or related field required or equivalent experience.5 years directly related experience as a supply chain manager or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.CSCP, CPIM Certification or relative experience.Salary: $110,000 to $130,000 per year DOE.Matheson is an Equal Opportunity Employer that complies with the laws and regulations set forth under EEOC.
