This position exists to ensure that the most complete qualitative social information (in the form of staff, public and stakeholder input) is available to inform decision-making and planning processes of Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW). The position provides support to CPW branches and regions to support agency staff in planning, developing, coordinating and implementing engagement strategies. Collaboration and support of the Policy and Planning team, particularly the Policy & Engagement Specialist IV position, is expected.Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Six (6) years of relevant experience in wildlife management, outdoor recreation, public engagement, natural sciences, social sciences (sociology, psychology, human dimensions), policy, planning, public administration, communications, political science, law, business administration, biology, ecology, environmental science, geography, forestry, range management or an occupation related to the work assigned to this position.OR A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in wildlife management, outdoor recreation, public engagement, natural sciences, social sciences (sociology, psychology, human dimensions), policy, planning, public administration, communications, political science, law, business administration, biology, ecology, environmental science, geography, forestry, range management equal to six (6) years.Substitutions

Certifications in facilitation, consensus building, conflict resolution, and stakeholder and public engagement.Knowledge of parks and wildlife issues and stakeholders.Experience in stakeholder and public engagement, including collecting, analyzing and summarizing public comments.Survey design and implementation expertise.Demonstrated knowledge of, and relevant ability with, culturally diverse communities in urban and rural settings.Current or former State experience relevant to this position.Ability to work independently and take initiative by using critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify solutions for customer or program challenges.Ability to establish relationships through interpersonal skills and collaboration with stakeholders.Excellent writing and public speaking skills and demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts into accessible, audience-specific materials.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate through multiple mediums (e.g., email, phone, website, in person, etc.).High attention to detail.Ability to problem solve independently and as a team member.Being reliable and punctual.Ability to perform under pressure and on deadline.Experience with Microsoft Office and internet research.Application Instructions
