19-00159Who We Are:

Our team, the Space Operations section, is dedicated to executing Science and Mission Operations Centers for Solar System Exploration.Objectives of this Role:

Assist in leading the Mission Operations section which operates the CYGNSS constellation and will launch the PUNCH, QuickSounder, and CubiXSS missions.Assist the department in writing future mission proposals to grow the Mission Operations section.Serve as a reviewer as needed for peer reviews.Organize successful programs of significant size in new and demanding areas of mission operations involving collaboration, teaming, and coordination.Lead projects and programs with multiple subcontractors and multi-disciplinary technical teams. Lead program development initiatives in operations and be responsible for securing project work with a long-term forecast to support billed work for several years.Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

Manage daily operations of up to 13 spacecraft, including checking command uploads, data downlink, spacecraft health, and trending.Perform trending and analysis of spacecraft/payload performance and assist with anomaly investigations.Work and lead Mission Planning, Software Development, and Flight Controller teams in the successful operation of spacecraft, including building up MOC systems for new missions.Generate monthly reports for NASA and other customers.Evaluate software updates to mission planning, data processing, command, control, and telemetry systems.Improve Mission Operations by evaluating deficiencies, new requirements, and participating in proposals for future missions.Create and maintain requirements for ground and flight segments and assist with requirements verification and validation.Support integration and testing of spacecraft, including simulation test creation and execution, mission rehearsals, and training of personnel.Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering Physics, or closely related degree with relevant professional level work experience.15+ years of Mission Operations Center experience using Horizon, EPOCH, COSMOS, MAESTRO, OASIS, ASI MAX GDS, AMMOS, Ruby, STOL, ITOS, Galaxy, or another command and control system.5 years of experience with automated processes, including extensive work in Linux with cron jobs, bash shell scripting, and Python. Ability to query a database and analyze engineering data related to trending and health of the spacecraft observatory.15 years of experience in developing standard operating procedures and contingency operations procedures for use in a MOC.A valid/clear driver's license is required.Special Requirements:

Work assignment is in Boulder, Colorado. Must be a U.S. person (i.e., U.S. citizen, non-U.S. citizen national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee) due to ITAR work in section.Job Locations:
