About the Role
The ERP Manufacturing Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems within the manufacturing operations of the organization. The individual in this role will act as the bridge between the IT department and manufacturing teams, ensuring that the ERP system aligns with operational needs, improves efficiency, and supports business objectives. This position requires strong project management skills, knowledge of manufacturing processes, and expertise in ERP systems, particularly in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
ERP System Implementation and Optimization
Lead and manage the deployment of ERP systems, ensuring alignment with manufacturing requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, procurement, and supply chain, to ensure the ERP system supports operational efficiency
Configure ERP modules specific to manufacturing operations such as inventory management, production scheduling, and quality control
Monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary adjustments
Project Management:
Lead ERP implementation projects, ensuring timely delivery, resource management, and alignment with project goals
Develop project plans, set timelines, and manage stakeholder communication throughout the implementation lifecycle
Work with external ERP vendors and consultants to manage system upgrades and customizations
Process Improvement:
Analyze current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement using the ERP system
Good domain expertise on Materials Management, Production Planning, Warehouse Management, Logistics Execution & Transportation Management, Supply Chain Management, Product Lifecycle Management
Lead initiatives to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance productivity through ERP functionality
Provide ongoing recommendations to optimize ERP usage, increase automation, and reduce manual interventions
Training and Support:
Provide training to manufacturing staff on ERP system functionalities and best practices
Act as the primary point of contact for ERP-related queries and issues in manufacturing operations
Develop training materials and conduct workshops to ensure users are proficient in system use
Data Management and Reporting:
Ensure the accuracy of manufacturing data within the ERP system, including inventory levels, production schedules, and work orders
Generate and analyze reports on production efficiency, inventory control, and other key performance indicators (KPIs)
Support data-driven decision-making by delivering timely and accurate insights from the ERP system
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Liaise with IT, finance, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure the ERP system is integrated across all business units
Participate in strategic planning sessions to align manufacturing operations with corporate goals
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure that all ERP-related processes in manufacturing comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies
Implement quality assurance checks within the ERP system to track product quality and adherence to production standards
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
5+ years of experience in ERP system implementation and management, specifically in manufacturing environments
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, supply chain operations, and inventory management
Proven track record in leading ERP implementation or upgrade projects
Strong expertise in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or ROSS
Proficiency in ERP manufacturing modules such as production planning, shop floor control, and quality management
Familiarity with data analysis tools and reporting platforms
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and manage stakeholder expectations
