We are looking to add an experienced Geotechnical Project Manager to our Virginia team. Join us in supporting diverse transportation, transit, and environmental projects such as highway and rail bridges, buildings, retaining walls, slopes, pavements, ground treatment of soft soils and subgrades, and utilities. Ideal candidates possess VDOT and Virginia municipal experience, proactive problem-solving skills, a solid grasp of geotechnical principles, and hands-on expertise in geotechnical/pavement design and field operations. As a senior member, you'll collaborate across disciplines, preparing plans and reports for various geotechnical and pavement projects, supervising field investigations, reviewing design computations, and offering recommendations. Essential FunctionAssist in leading our geotechnical/pavement design and engineering group throughout Virginia with development and delivery of geotechnical assignmentsAssist with Business Development and Marketing Teams to secure future clients and workloadProvide geotechnical expertise on all project aspects associated with conceptual engineering, detailed engineering designs, and preparation of contract documents for construction followed by construction administration with respect to the geotechnical aspects of the projectFoster innovative design concepts related to Geotechnical Engineering to enhance project efficiencyServe as Project Manager on a variety of geotechnical related projectsAid in producing construction documents, specifications, and construction cost estimatesFacilitate internal and client meetings and presentationsServe as a liaison between client and firmAdminister QA/QC for completeness and accuracy of design workHire, train, and mentor entry level and junior level Geotechnical engineers
Required Skills and ExperiencePassion for client service and engineeringBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering10+ years of Geotechnical Design Experience (5+ years of VDOT experience)Experience in management of Geotechnical Task AssignmentsComprehensive knowledge of VDOT Geotechnical and Pavement MOI's and AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design SpecificationSignificant understanding of the following software: Microsoft Office, gINT, OpenGrounds, LPile, APile, MSEW, Slide, Settle 3, Slope/w, AASHTOWare Pavement ME, and GRLWEAPExcellent written and verbal communications skillsVirginia Professional Engineer License
Preferred Skills and ExperienceMS or advanced degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering preferred
