Summary:

This position is located in the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary, Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs, Office of Indian Economic Development, Division of Capital Investment.Responsibilities:Consults, assists, and secures project financing by analyzing, preparing, and presenting analysis of loan applications.Prepares, reviews, and provides current, accurate, and timely data to financial institutions, BIA management, lenders, and associates.Analyzes and prepares financial reports on the merits of credit applications, examining eligibilities and all credit factors.Recommends approval or denial of loan applications received from lenders and borrowers.Analyzes, prepares, and presents standardized credit analysis and reviews the credit analysis of other DCI staff in the context of a credit review committee.Provides accurate supporting justification to address and mitigate terms and conditions suitable to protect the interest of DCI.Consults and provides the DCI Chief with current, accurate, detailed, and substantive weekly activity reports.Participates in discussions concerning policies developed or administered within the OIED that impact Indian economic development.Communicates, explains, and promotes statutes, regulations, OIED programs, policies, and objectives associated with the IFA.Complies with all applicable reporting requirements, audit inquiries, and legal requirements including the Debt Collection Improvement Act.Reviews program activities for purposes of the credit subsidy model prepared by the Office of Management and Budget and prepares monthly loan reports that emanate from the zones.Requirements:Conditions of Employment:GS-12: To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level performing ALL of the following:Experience in loan processing;Experience in credit analysis;Loan underwriting;Customer service;Time management skills.GS-13: To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level performing ALL of the following:Experience as an expert in loan processing;Experience as an expert in credit analysis;Comprehensive knowledge of loan underwriting;Excellent customer service;Strong time management skills;Experience with lending practices.All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date.Education and Additional Information:All new hires earn the beginning salary of their pay grade (Step 1).
