Who we are looking forWe require someone that is self-motivated and driven. The candidate will need to be able to assess different issues that arise throughout the day from other teams within State Street as well as self-identified issues and research/resolve these items independently. The candidate will need to be able to network with several teams across the bank globally to reach resolution as well as work directly with offshore partners on a daily basis. The role will require management of a few staff at varying levels and experience as well. There is also exposure with clients and/or investment managers throughout the year, serving as subject matter expert on listed products to support the client service teams. The role will also be involved in a fair amount of auditor inquiries pertaining to the scope of work performed by the listed derivatives team. There is quite a bit of focus on reconciliations both to brokers and to investment manager data that is involved in this role. This role will also be supporting middle office for listed products as well.Why this role is important to usThe team this role is a part of is the back office and middle office onshore team supporting listed derivatives products for North America. We require a strong group of individuals to work alongside the offshore partners to ensure accurate and timely processing of derivatives to the accounting book and records. The role will require a fast learner and hard worker to keep up with the fast pace of tasks and responsibilities under our scope.What you will be responsible forAs Derivatives Officer you will:Assist in research/resolution of reconciling items performed by the offshore teams.Identify any system related issues and work with the IT team to have them addressed.Work with middle office staff to improve process flow and facilitate resolution of breaks in middle office with brokers.Manage onshore individuals.Respond to inquiries from external teams at State Street.Facilitate due diligence and/or other meetings with clients as needed.Assist in onboarding new funds/clients/convert new business.What we valueThese skills will help you succeed in this role:Fluent in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Excel, Access).Strong communication skills.Accounting background is helpful but not required.Background in Derivatives is helpful but not required.Project management background is helpful but not required.Education & Preferred QualificationsAssociates Degree or higher is preferred.At least 2 years of accounting related experience is preferred.Additional requirementsThis role will have responsibilities in both KC and Irvine and may require some travel throughout the year to the Irvine office.About State StreetWhat we do:

$65,000 - $102,500 Annual. The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified.
