Job Summary:

The Procurement Manager's responsibilities include developing procurement and purchasing strategies, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, developing positive relationships and assessing risks with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, driving contract and price negotiations, and overseeing the purchasing and scheduling team in their daily activities. Clear and concise communication with all internal departments and the organization and the ability to problem-solve are essential to this position.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Hires and manages the Supply Chain Purchasing Agents and Master Scheduler.

Manages and oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the purchasing and scheduling teams.

Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

Handles discipline and termination of employees following company policy.

Responsibilities:

Collaborates with other departments and leadership to identify and develop needs and requirements for equipment, materials, products, and acceptable substitutions.

Assesses current material availability; reasonably predicts future availability based on the market, delivery systems, and other variables.

Prepares and processes purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment.

Oversees planning worksheet in NAV that determines materials needed for production.

Drafts, explains, and implements systems, policies, and procedures for procurement, purchasing, and scheduling functions.

Creates, evaluates, and approves conditions for issuing and awarding bids.

Stays current on all global and regional regulatory requirements, tariff changes, and border crossing availability.

Conducts cost analyses and sets benchmarks for improvement.

Works closely with the company legal department to ensure contracts and terms are favorable.

Creates RFQs and oversees competitive bidding cycles for all raw materials, tooling, and molds.

Manages procurement budgets, strategies, and payment processes.

Devises initiatives to drive procurement performance.

Develops or assists in defining timing and milestones while leading large-scale capital moves or purchases.

Negotiates contracts with long-term contracts and commercial agreements with vendors to secure the best deals and terms.

Builds mutually beneficial and strategic relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers while managing disputes.

Monitors supplier performance through scorecards for optimal business operations performance.

Tracks critical metrics of procurement data, conducts spend analysis, contract negotiation, and supplier performance, and prepares reports that improve quality and customer service while reducing cost.

Develops new supply sources or secondary suppliers where vendors are inadequate.

Supports quality in developing and maintaining a global preferred supplier list.

Coordinates removal or disposal of surplus materials.

Administers the departmental budget.

Communicates effectively and promptly with all internal customers.

Proactively audits vendors to assess and mitigate risk.

Participates in supplier specification and drives corrective actions where necessary.

Reviews and approves subcontractor documentation for company compliance.

Directly partners with operations to identify and develop the optimal suppliers for all spend categories.

Works on special projects, prototypes, and miscellaneous tasks assigned by management to accomplish short and long-term goals.

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, identify and consider potential solutions, and make timely recommendations.

Ability to travel.

Proven track record of exceeding expectations regularly.

Complete TWI Training and write Work Instructions & SLDs.

Work Environment:

This job may require you to sit at a desk and work on the computer for prolonged periods. You must consistently lift 15 pounds at a time. You must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs and work in both hot and cold environments.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen in English. The employee must frequently stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel surfaces and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 15 pounds. Specific visual acuity abilities required by this job include adjusting focus to distinguish objects and printed material near and far, color and peripheral vision, and depth perception.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. The hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40+ hours per week. Occasional travel and overtime requirements may occur as job duties are in demand.

Education and Experience:

Required:

Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in purchasing or equivalent experience.

Preferred:

2-3 years of supervisory experience.
