Our work plays a critical role in communities we serve across Idaho and Oregon, and we’re working hard to safely provide our customers with the reliable, affordable, clean energy they depend on.What does a Pricing Analyst or Senior Pricing Analyst do for us?A Pricing Analyst provides support for Idaho Power Company's (IPC) various regulatory activities including revenue requirement calculations, economic analyses, regulatory ratemaking and compliance filings, pricing of regulated services and program development. The successful candidate will work with direction within a team environment to prepare and present analyses and conduct studies that support the goals and objectives of the Rate Design team, which will include developing pricing recommendations related to the Company’s service offerings and supporting other projects as assigned.In addition to the meaningful work we do, we offer work-life balance, competitive pay and benefits, an employee incentive plan, and both a 401k employer-match and a pension plan, making Idaho Power one of the best employers in the state.A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVEKnowledge Of:Cost analysis, financial and economic analysis techniquesPreferred:Utility rate-making practices and proceduresIPC or other electric utility operationsRegulatory commission practices and proceduresIssues pertinent to the changing electric utility industryIPC's rules, regulations, and ratesSkills In:Use of personal computers and commonly used business software applicationsVerbal and written communicationAnalytical researchAbility To:Prepare documents detailing and defending various issuesPerform analytical research and solve analytical problems utilizing Microsoft ExcelPrepare and deliver presentationsWork effectively with other departments and personnelWork effectively in a team environmentMINIMUM REQUIREMENTSPricing Analyst:Education:Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Business Administration, or related fieldPreferred:Advanced degree in related fieldExperience:2 or more years of experience performing cost, financial or economic analysesA directly related advanced degree may be substituted for 1 year of experiencePreferred:1 - 3 years of experience conducting pricing analyses, cost of service studies, and other utility pricing related analysesSenior Pricing Analyst:Education:Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, or related fieldExperience:5 or more years of professional level work experience performing and presenting detailed economic, financial, cost, or related analysesA directly related advanced degree may be substituted for 2 years of experiencePreferred:Experience testifying before regulatory agenciesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis position is a sedentary job requiring working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. With the level of experience expected at this level, the analyst provides input on policy analyses and strategies. Also at this level, the analyst participates in regulatory and customer interactions.
