For this role, we are open to remote work and can hire anywhere in the U.S. or Canada.About the opportunityAs Privacy Engagement Counsel, you will be the point person in privacy for supporting our Go-To-Market teams, ensuring our marketing and sales processes remain compliant with applicable laws. You will also provide support to our commercial legal team in negotiating privacy-related aspects of our commercial agreements, respond to RFPs, maintain our library of due diligence materials, and develop customer-facing materials that reflect our desired privacy brand. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the internal privacy training and awareness strategy, ensuring that our program addresses customer and regulatory expectations and integrates good privacy practices into our culture at Dayforce.What you’ll get to doDraft and manage updates to various privacy statements, including external customer-facing and internal employee-facing statements.Develop a privacy training and awareness program strategy to ensure privacy practices are part of our culture.Support our commercial legal team in maintaining data protection addenda templates and negotiation playbooks.Serve as a trusted privacy business partner for sales and customer success organizations, ensuring high-quality responses to RFPs and due diligence questionnaires.Assist sales and marketing organizations to ensure their practices comply with applicable privacy laws.Collaborate with privacy, sales, marketing, and communications colleagues to develop materials that communicate our privacy story to customers.Act as a primary liaison between the sales and commercial legal teams and the broader privacy team.Skills and experience we valueA Juris Doctorate or LLB and active license to practice law in the US or Canada.8 or more years of relevant experience at a law firm, consulting firm, or in an in-house legal or cybersecurity department, with at least 3 years supporting privacy frameworks in a global software enterprise.Experience advising marketing and sales teams on privacy compliance, including familiarity with ePrivacy, CAN-SPAM, and TCPA laws.Experience supporting commercial contracting teams with time-sensitive privacy-related matters.Experience developing and delivering global and role-based privacy trainings.Excellent business acumen and analytical skills to assess privacy risks and provide practical solutions.Experience drafting and maintaining privacy statements and other transparency-enhancing materials.Strong relationship-building skills in a remote-first work environment.Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a global team.Proven ability to communicate privacy concepts to non-experts.Familiarity with GDPR, CPRA, BIPA, and PIPEDA; additional knowledge of GLBA, Quebec Law 25, APPI, DPDP Act, and Privacy Act in Australia is a plus.Excellent sense of humor.What would make you really stand outExperience designing and implementing processes, procedures, or technology to operationalize privacy.Experience in a cloud-based SaaS organization.Enjoyment in untangling complexity.Comfort with leveraging privacy software technologies.Desire to understand the technical aspects of our business.What’s in it for youDayforce values the diversity of our talented employees.
