Natural Hazard Planner-2Join the

Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development

(DLCD) as a Natural Hazards Mitigation Planner (Planner 2) in our Planning Services Division. This position helps local governments reduce the risk of natural hazards, primarily by updating local natural hazard mitigation plans, and integrating them into comprehensive plans, zoning maps, and development regulations. This position might also work within the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) to review local governments that participate in the NFIP. This recruitment is being used to fill

AND

one year of progressively responsible planning experience related to the job;Four years of progressively responsible planning experience related to the job;

ORAn equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience.We’re Also Looking for:Experience in or knowledge of natural hazards, especially mitigation planning.Experience in or knowledge of local government planning, especially land use planning in Oregon.Experience in floodplain regulations by local government, especially certification as a floodplain manager by the Association of State Floodplain Managers.Lived or professional experience serving individuals from historically and currently underserved and under-resourced communities.Fluency in languages other than English, especially Spanish.If you have these qualities, let us know! Let Me Help!The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is a PERS participating member, they will have the base salary increased by 6.95% and pay the 6% employee contribution to PERS. Successful candidates who are not yet a PERS participating member will receive the 6.95% pay increase and begin the 6% employee contribution upon participating in PERS.
