YesEssential Job Functions:Teaching1. Plans, evaluates course materials, and methods of instruction.2. Prepares course materials, homework assignments, and handouts.3. Identifies specialized materials for outside reading assignments.4. Initiates, facilitates, and moderates clinical discussions.5. Assists students who need extra help with their coursework outside of class.6. Maintains student attendance records, grades, and other required records.7. Evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory and clinic work, assignments, and/or papers.8. Compiles, administers, and grades examinations, or assigns this work to others.9. Maintains regularly scheduled office hours to advise and assist students.10. Acts as advisor to student organizations, ensuring adherence to college and university policies and procedures.Team Leader Duties:1. Oversees and develops evidence-based treatment plans for assigned students patients.2. Monitors assigned student progress to ensure student meets established clinical benchmarks.3. Conducts summative and formative assessments to determine students’ preparedness to challenge the Independent Clinical Performance Assessment (ICPA).4. Assigns new patients to D3 and D4 students to ensure well rounded learning experience.5. Works with Patient Management Coordinator (PMC) to ensure patients receive comprehensive dental care.6. Works with Patient Management Coordinator to perform quarterly patient family review.7. Works with Department Chairs to assure department protocols and policies are followed and implemented.8. Mentors and calibrates other clinic faculty.Clinical Instruction1. Assesses clinical education needs and patient and client teaching needs using a variety of methods.2. Demonstrates patient care in clinical units of hospitals.Research & Scholarship1. Conducts research in a particular field of knowledge and publish findings in professional journals, books, or electronic media.2. Reviews papers for publication in journals.Service & Professional Development1. Participates in campus and community events, such as giving presentations to the public.2. Actively identifies opportunities and provides service relating to fields of expertise for the benefit of internal and external communities.Other Assigned Duties1. Collaborates with staff and colleagues to address teaching and research issues, and to improve students' learning experiences.2. Serves on academic or administrative committees that deal with institutional policies, departmental matters, and academic issues.3. Keeps abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.4. Dental Medicine - Comprehensive knowledge of the information/techniques needed in Dental Medicine. This includes symptoms/treatment planning.2. English Language - Thorough knowledge of the structure/content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.4.
