The Director of Sales Training is responsible for overseeing all commercial new hire training, product launch training, and ongoing development training. This position leads the field team new hire training program in close collaboration with commercial leadership to ensure consistency of capabilities, messaging, and execution. This position will provide strategic leadership and ongoing development to the commercial field organization to maximize skills as well as execution of advanced training and leadership development programs.Responsibilities

Oversee field team new hire training programs and onboarding processes.Deploy best-in-class techniques to deliver training programs that are engaging, actionable, scalable, and results-driven.Contribute to the development of strategic plans for product launch training and continual launch learnings.Develop disease state, product, and leadership training programs for all levels of the field force organizations, including new hire training to accelerate time to revenue-generation and manager training.Develop product messaging and competitive messaging in partnership with marketing, market access, and sales leadership.Collaborate with medical affairs and marketing to ensure integration with product/technical training.Collaborate with HCPs to ensure trainings reflect customer expectations and involve where appropriate.Align with HR to evaluate competency levels and create training strategy to address critical gaps.Develop key performance indicators for sales training programs, track effectiveness, and demonstrate strong financial ROI.Provide leadership and vision on the strategic development, planning, implementation, and assessment of comprehensive commercial training and development programs and resources.Proactively support company goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, and perform in accordance with industry and government regulation guidelines.Lead efforts to interface proactively with cross-functional partners, including marketing, medical affairs, senior sales leadership, market access, and patient services to determine education and training needs. Develop strong relationships that help facilitate meeting of goals.Lead team efforts to establish area training plans to ensure regional achievement of measures/certifications.Prioritize, design, and develop programs to meet outcomes of area training plans.Provide strategic leadership in the partnership with Area Business Directors on product launches, continuing education plans, sales representative certification, and selling skills, including identification of needs, timelines, and budget to support launches.Experience with building and running training curriculums.Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, health care, business administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.A minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience and advancement within healthcare, pharmaceutical, or biotech industry in sales, sales training; Rare and pediatric disease experience preferred.Scientific and clinical acumen; ability to engage with National KOLs, vendor assessment and management, budget development and management, executive presence, ability to influence without authority, excellent planning and project management skills.Product launch experience or major new indication launch experience.Strong biotechnology and rare disease experience in sales, sales training.Experience and demonstrated ability to learn, train, and facilitate discussions of complex scientific and clinical concepts.Ability to work successfully in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Proficiency at creating and communicating a clear vision among team members effectively aligning resources and activities to achieve functional area and/or organizational goals.Experience with Learning Management Systems.Knowledge of adult learning principles.Knowledge of instructional design a plus.Strong team player who can incorporate input from others and can generate consensus through inclusion.Strong cross-functional experience to drive and support organizational goals.Strong and creative thinker who is intellectually curious.Ability to develop strong relationships with customers, clinical & sales partners.High degree of personal integrity.Excellent interpersonal communication and negotiation skills for a wide variety of audiences, including sales & marketing leadership.Experience with building and executing leadership development programs.Experience with KOL development.Experience with building sales and clinical representative development preceptorship programs.Experience with developing and managing global sales training programs.Biotechnology start-up experience and new product launches.Ability to travel up to 30%.Salary Range:

$200,000-$260,000(Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as the location where this position may be filled.)
