Refined Sugar Weigher

operates packaging equipment and performs multiple tasks to include filling and weighing products on various lines.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Operates basic packaging equipment such as 25lb, 50lb and 100lb bagging machinesPerforms basic procedures such as filling coder with ink, changing coder for appropriate abstract and lot numbersObtains and replaces empty bags as requiredThreads machines, replace needles; acquires and mounts spools of thread, tape, cord and other material as neededSecures, places and fills bags on filling device on manual, semi-automatic or automatic scales to specified weights within tolerances requiredChecks bag weights, adding or removing sugar or adjusting scales as requiredOperates sewing machine and accessory equipment to close filled bagsInspects for defective sewing and remove rejects from linePerforms necessary cleaning, oiling and adjustment of scales, sewing machines and associated equipment to maintain operational continuityWORK EXPERIENCES

Previous work experience in an industrial/manufacturing facility, or related environmentPrevious experience operating packaging equipment is preferredEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or GED equivalent requiredESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

Ability to read and adjust scales on various types of packaging equipment and related equipmentAbility to work rotating shifts, including overtime, weekends and holidaysAbility to perform industrial labor tasks such as but not limited to climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), standing and walking for long periods of timeHOURLY RATE
