OVERVIEW
The Warehouse & Shipping Truck Clerk is responsible for assisting in verifying, compiling and coordinating documents and recording information on all incoming and outgoing shipments in an industrial food facility.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Checks manifest, invoices and orders to ensure they are recorded accurately for either incoming or outgoing shipmentsWorks closely with suppliers and customers to ensure any problems, damages or errors are corrected. This will involve recording data appropriate to the task, including accounting records.Responsible for inventory control/checking as well as the preparation of documentation such as work orders, shipping orders and Bills of ladingsArranging for the shipping and delivery of materials is also a fundamental element of the role. This will involve understanding the best shipping methods for materials, knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rate.May also be required to pack goods for shipping.Takes stock of the available raw materials in the warehouse, and prepare purchase ordersWORK EXPERIENCES
Must have a minimum of 3 years in a shipping/receiving position in an industrial facilityMust have experience with checking manifests, invoices and orders for incoming and outgoing shipments in a freight departmentEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or GED is requiredESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)
Must have excellent time-management and coordination skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills neededEffective listener and efficient problem solverMust have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Excellent data-entry skills are requiredAbility to supervise worker activities in the warehouseAbility to work flexible working hours including possible weekends, holidays, and overtime as neededKnowledge of a computerized Warehouse Management SystemExperience with SAP is preferredLOCATION OF ROLE
