Position Summary

Prepare, execute and monitor assigned programs, accounts and/or funds within the City's operating budget including the preparation of needs, costs and performance assessments; administer and control assigned department budget functions and review expenditures and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility. This is a lead level class in the Executive Budget Analyst series. Employees at this level will assume new or unusual situations arise, and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies of the work unit. Employees within this class are distinguished from the Executive Budget Analyst I and II by the performance of the full range of duties as assigned, administering, monitoring and controlling assigned department budget functions. They are required to be fully trained in all procedures related to the assigned area of responsibility. Executive Budget Analyst III's train new analysts and provide guidance to staff. The Executive Budget Analyst III will coordinate budget process and prepare reports that require multiple analyst input.

Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in economics, accounting, public administration, or business administration;

and

Seven (7) years of experience in budget development or financial analysis

Experience in budget development or financial analysis in municipal government preferred.
