RaganSmith is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant based in our Nashville office. This role will be responsible for managing the financial closing process, maintaining financial procedures in accordance with GAAP, performing accurate payroll operations and assisting with FP&A functions within the organization.
Responsibilities May Include
Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable, including processing vendor and consultant invoices, employee expenses, and company credit cards Manage the monthly closing process and monthly reconciliations Execute payroll, including review of weekly timesheets, processing of biweekly payrolls, managing payroll reporting and reconciling paid time off and compensatory time policies Maintain employee benefits administration, including approving benefits selections and monitoring them for accuracy with payroll, approving and/or creating monthly insurance invoices or managing EDI feeds, and being a resource for employees Lead company's general ledger, including performing month and year end close, reconciliation and posting journal entries to ensure accurate reporting Participate in onboarding and offboarding employee payroll and benefits Assist and continually develop the reporting, methodology and analysis of department level financials Assist with the annual business plan and quarterly forecasting "recast" process Provide business analysis and ad-hoc reporting to support business objectives and strategy Collaborate across accounting and operational departments to enable business insights, training and financial support Continuously develop the reporting, methodology and analysis of department level financials Provide support for the Accounting Manager & Regional CFO Additional related duties as needed Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required 3+ years of experience in an accounting role Payroll experience preferred Deltek Ajera experience highly desired Workday experience a plus Extremely detail oriented Strong mathematical and analytical skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel Ability to read and analyze financial reports Capable of interfacing with cross-functional teams and all levels of management Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities Demonstrated ability to generate and maintain confidential information Benefits
