Ceded Reinsurance Analyst
on our
Ceded Reinsurance team.
Sompo's Ceded Reinsurance team is a globalized customer focused, dedicated and professional organization. The team is responsible for the purchasing and management of Ceded Reinsurance placements. The Ceded Accounting staff will provide accurate and timely production of financial statements, production reports, client receivables/payables and be actively involved in cash processing, collection and disbursement as well as any ad-hoc project requests. Additionally, be able to identify and research issues arising from processes and producing/communicating results in an accurate and timely manner, in order to achieve department standards and meet service level expectations.

The Ceded Reinsurance Analyst position will manage and analyze all supporting data relating to one of Sompo's largest Ceded Reinsurance contracts, covering 90% of all direct business Sompo places. This role will participate in the administration of this contract (both internally and externally), focusing on large data-set aggregation, manipulation, and analysis. The Analyst is the subject matter expert for the data architecture set-up regarding this contract; and is responsible for leading the team on process effectiveness and developing enhancements in-line with Sompo International's commitment to automation. This role will also act a liaison with other Ceded Reinsurance functions (Operations, Cash, Solutions). The ideal candidate is comfortable with managing data across multiple sources, and will bring an innovative, creative, proactive, and growth mindset to this role.
What You'll Do:Responsible for compiling and aggregating premium, loss, and other contract datasets to ensure accuracy and timeliness for the generation of the quarterly account statementWorking with the Accounting Manager, and the Solutions Lead, provide all required final datasets needed for the effective execution and administration of the contractLeverage all available methodologies to complete all analytical work required, and provide a "first-look" work-up of the sameUnderstand all business requirements with cash and A/R management; and drive the development of needed enhancementsAd Hoc tasksWhat you'll bring:
3-4 years experience, with a proven record of large dataset management and analysis (including but not limited to MS Excel, SQL, Access Database)Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience with an interest in both accounting as well as data/systemsMinimum of 2 years' experience within the Insurance or Reinsurance industryMust have a desire and ability to stay abreast of available technological functionality and use data to inform decisionsExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on cross-function developmentAbility to act quickly and efficiently with high degree of professionalism in a fast-paced environmentStrong business acumen, high integrity, and a strong desire to succeedSalary Range:
$65,000 - $130,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
