Junior Accountant
to join their dynamic team.
The
Junior Accountant
will be responsible for managing the company's accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments as well as working in the GL and handing fixed assets. This role is crucial in maintaining strong relationships with their vendors and ensuring the smooth operation of their financial activities.
Junior Accountant Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable
Receive, review, and verify invoices for appropriate documentation and approval Enter invoices into the accounting system for payment Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted Communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and answer inquiries
Fixed Assets
Maintain and update the fixed assets register Record acquisition, disposal, and transfer of fixed assets in the accounting system Calculate and record depreciation for all fixed assets Ensure accurate and timely posting of depreciation expenses Prepare reports on fixed assets, including asset listings and depreciation schedules Assist in preparing information for financial audits
General Ledger
Prepare and post routine journal entries, such as accruals, prepayments, and allocations Ensure all entries are accurate and supported by appropriate documentation Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Assist with the month-end and year-end closing processes
Junior Accountant Requirements:
Ideally 1+ years in AP/AR role ready to move into core accounting, minimum requirement an accounting focused internship Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP or similar ERP systems) Ability to go onsite to the Boulder office 3 days a week Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial transactions
