N SUMMARY

The Sr. Accountant will assist in driving and accomplishing business objectives by playing a pivotal role in the period end and quarter end close process, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the Company's accounting for assigned areas, and identifying process improvement opportunities. Further, the role will be responsible for analyzing and reconciling complex balance sheet and profit and loss accounts by thoroughly reviewing the general ledger detail, A/P, A/R, and other subsystems to determine what data was posted to the accounts, the time period that the data relates to, and what functions to perform related to the data.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

May perform any or all of the following duties:

Assists in leading the period end and quarterly close process.Assists in the accounting, analysis, and oversight of the company's streams of revenue as assignedPrepares detailed journal entries for Brand Accounting, Advertising and/or Corporate G&A. Areas covered include the following, but are not limited to: accrue for outstanding invoices; accrue for Advertising fund expenses; record revenues and expenses to the proper accounts; expense prepaids to the proper period; allocates expenses to the appropriate individual operating unit/department; etc.Prepares comprehensive balance sheet and profit and loss analytics for management review purposes.Partners with Shared Services functions for close processes and analytics.Assists Corporate Reporting team and partners with Operations Finance team in analyzing trends and Actuals vs. Forecast.Prepares ad hoc analyses for Management.Analyzes and reconciles complex balance sheet accounts including roll-forwards.Prepares quarterly balance sheet & profit and loss analytics for outside auditors.Maintains general ledger accounts and departments in ERP system utilized in financial reporting.Values efficiency and identifies and initiates process improvement opportunities.Communicates with Operations and Corporate team members as appropriate for assigned areas.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/CORE COMPETENCIES

5+ years of experience that demonstrates a commanding knowledge of general accountingBA/BS Degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA license strongly preferredPrior experience working with computerized financial accounting system, preferably Oracle/PeoplesoftExperience with Hyperion preferredProficient in Excel and Microsoft WordPrior experience in account analysis and reconciliationsWillingness and ability to adapt quickly to ever-changing business needs and play pivotal roles in innovative and business driving projectsDemonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills and communicates effectively with various contacts (internal and external)Proven ability to work independently, as well as in team settingsMust display strong analytical and organizational skills and have the ability to identify and implement process improvement strategies with positive business resultsMust display a high level of confidentiality to ensure proper handling of sensitive informationWORK ENVIRONMENT
