Purpose

Leads and mentors the corporate accounting team in performance of their duties and responsibilities. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all financial records in accordance with generally accepted accounting standards (GAAP). Support the Corporate forecast and planning process by providing timely and reliable financial data and analysis.

Key ResponsibilitiesOwner of corporate accounting month-end close process

Review month-end closing journal entries and assigned account reconciliations.

Manage and supervise corporate accounting team.Provide guidance and support to the accounting team, as well as other departments and stakeholders, on accounting matters and best practices as needed.Review monthly management reporting packages distributed to directors and executives.Review budget and forecast data prepared by corporate accounting team (prepaids, debt, property tax, asset sales, etc.)Liaison between corporate accounting and financial planning and analysis team.Manage Anaplan (forecasting tool) for corporate accounting areas of responsibility (coordinate updates to modules, review inputs, verify completion of forecast/plan items)Design and manage corporate variance analysis process.Research and complete analysis on industry stats for distribution to upper management.Support external audit process. Review deliverables for the auditors. Assist with financial reporting package and questions as needed.Establish (as needed) and maintain internal controls within department, ensure compliance with established reporting deadlines and adherence to GAAP. Work with Technical Accounting Manager on these items as needed.Complete assigned projects while working with cross functional finance groups to meet departmental goals and objectivesHelp with other projects and tasks as needed:

Revamp chart of accounts and reporting structure, data clean-upReview and advise on management reporting

Three to five years' experience in public accountingAdditional industry experience outside of public accountingPrevious experience with Business IntelligenceProven knowledge of databases and systemsPrevious experience in manufacturing
