PURPOSE OF POSITION

The People and Culture Generalist will possess understanding and working knowledge of common HR practices to function as our operational lead and HRIS expert. The Generalist will also serve as a backup resource for other members of the People and Culture team. Strong partnerships with People and Culture team members, IT, and Finance are critical to be successful.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Communication

Respond to or triage inquires to other People and Culture team members as neededCoordinate internal acknowledgements and announcementHuman Resource Information System (HRIS) Administration

Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of all data in the company HRIS, and the implementation, configuration, customization, maintenance, and addition of modulesOutline feasibility and costs of system upgrades and enhancements; suggest, design, test, implement, and evaluate solutionsDrive events in HRIS such as engagement surveys, merit, performance reviews, etc.Analyze business process issues and/or problems and provide assistance to system users; conduct research on possible solutions and makes recommendations based on findingsEnsure HRIS integrates with carrier systems to share dataResponsible for accurate, timely, and efficient data entry into the company HRISManage permissions, privacy, and access settings for HRIS usersCreate custom and system data reporting and other outputs from HRIS for various stakeholdersProvide first-level technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to HRIS usersFederal and State Compliance

Ensure and project manage multi-state and federal compliance law; perform routine data auditsResearch, review, audit, and register the company's compliance with policies and laws such as CMS, PCORI, 5500s, FLSA, wage & hour laws, unemployment claims, workers' compensation claims and insurance, FMLA leave laws, posting requirements, EEOC reporting and other legal requirements as directedOperations

Utilizing a working knowledge of HR functions, identify needs and develop solutions such as process, audits, reports, and templates (checklists, trackers, form letters/memos, mail-merges etc.)Lead a variety of projects, working with key stakeholders, to successful completion balancing project objectives and fine detailsReview existing policies, identify necessary changes, research as needed, and draft updatesOrganize and maintain the electronic file structureDrive the process of year-end preparations for the People and Culture teamDocument and maintain standard operational procedures (SOP) for the People and Culture teamOther Functions

Serve as a backup resource for benefits administration, payroll support, onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, performance management, leave of absence administration, and recruiting as neededAssist with planning and administering programs or projects related to budgets, compensation, and workforce planningAssist in the development and/or delivery of training and educational contentRequirements

High school diploma or GED requiredBachelor's degree in human resources or related field of study required3+ years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist with multi-state experience or related position requiredExperience with a commercial HRIS with demonstrated familiarity of functionality required.Working knowledge of federal and state regulations and the ability to deal sensitively with confidential materialWorking knowledge of HR functions and procedures (e.g., compliance, pay and benefits, recruitment, training, and development, etc.)Microsoft Office skills to include Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint; Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel with proficiency in pivot tables, conditional formatting, formulas, macros, etc.; ability to navigate web-based programsCurrent HR designation (SHRM or HRCI), or ability to obtain designation within 9 months of start date is requiredREMOTE WORKING REQUIREMENTS
