The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Business Manager for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau (Visit Lauderdale).The Broward County Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau (Visit Lauderdale) is seeking a meticulous and results-oriented Business Manager to oversee the financial relationship between Visit Lauderdale and the Broward County Convention Center Operator. This position will also oversee a variety of financial functions within the Visit Lauderdale tourism development fund.

In this crucial role, you will ensure the smooth, accurate, and timely flow of funds between the County and the Center's Operator. You will achieve this by reviewing and processing financial transactions, managing budgets and forecasts, and fostering open communication with key stakeholders.

ResponsibilitiesManage and ensure accurate financial transactions between Broward County and the Broward County Convention Center Operator, including reviewing, verifying, and processing revenue, expenses, and associated documentation.Manage the budgeting and forecasting process for Visit Lauderdale and the Convention Center, collaborating with stakeholders to develop realistic and achievable financial plans.Maintain clear and consistent communication with Broward County’s Accounting Division, the Convention Center operator’s accounting staff, and the Convention Center’s third-party auditor to ensure accurate and timely exchange of financial information.Prepare and analyze financial reports to support informed decision-making by Visit Lauderdale leadership.Perform other financial operations as needed to maintain the smooth flow of funds between the County and the Operator.Oversee grant applications and awards for Visit Lauderdale, ensuring compliance with all regulations and requirements.Other financial and procedural tasks related to the operations of Visit Lauderdale or the Broward County Convention Center operator.In the event of a disaster (hurricane, etc.), all Broward County employees become emergency workers. This position will assist in various emergency functions as assigned before, during, and after a disaster.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, public or business administration or closely related field.

Requires six (6) years of progressively responsible professional administrative and financial management experience based on area of assignment including four (4) years of administrative/supervisory experience.Special Certifications and Licenses

Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the job as necessary.Oversees the business functions of an agency including revenue/cash handling and auditing, payroll, accounts receivable and payable, grants, contracts and revenue development.Recommends changes to strategic plan based on past, current and forecasted data; provides fiscal oversight for the assigned operation.Manages the formulation and preparation of operating and capital budgets.Prepares financial forecasts, trend analysis and projections.Tracks productivity including revenue generation for performance evaluation and reporting.Prepares annual budget including capital submissions, fund appropriations and personnel cap adjustments when appropriate.Provides senior management with statistical data and input on current and developing programs.Supervises and participates in the preparation and execution of contract agreements; monitors contract activities and ensures compliance with contract provisions.Makes recommendations for procedural changes in internal agency operations to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity; makes recommendations for achievement of strategic plans.Manages, prepares and makes recommendations for agency's operating budget for general fund, grant funds and capital budgets; submits budget transfers and journal vouchers as necessary and approval of expenditures.Provides day-to-day oversight of grant forecasts and utilization for both revenues and expenditure as well as compliance to grant requirements.Monitors expenses and transfers funds as needed.Performs related work as assigned.Physical Demands
