Job Description - Mill Manager (01021679)Weyerhaeuser’s Plywood and Sawmill plants, located in Kalispell, Montana, are accepting applications for Mill Manager. The Kalispell Complex is located at 75 Sunset Drive (Kalispell, MT) in the beautiful Flathead Valley. This area is abundant with outdoor activities including wildlife viewing, hiking, hunting, fishing, boating, and camping opportunities.This full-time, exempt position will lead the Kalispell facilities as part of the Weyerhaeuser Wood Products business and reports directly to the VP Panels. The successful candidate will be a safety role model with excellent team skills and a proven ability to lead and develop people in a manufacturing environment. This position will develop leadership, safety, operational excellence, and support the business to ensure continuous process improvement and reliability.Key FunctionsRole model and engage associates in safely manufacturing lumber and plywood products that meet customer needs and drive improvement in key business metrics.Lead improvement in behavior-based safety techniques.Ensure an injury-free and inclusive culture is created by committed leaders and involved associates, backed by strong safety systems.Coach and lead in the overall manufacturing process.Implement processes to continually improve work systems that positively enhance the work environment for all associates.Reliability, financial, procurement, productivity, environmental, and other site stewardship responsibilities are the ultimate responsibility of the Mill Manager.Ensure that business and individual goal-setting processes such as capital plans, expense budgets, safety strategic plans, and performance management plans are developed and executed with excellence.Collaborate with other Wood Products mill managers to replicate best practices.QualificationsDemonstrated caring leadership resulting in continuous safety improvement.Demonstrated ability to raise performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching, development, and instilling a continuous improvement and results-oriented mindset.Previous experience in a manufacturing environment exhibiting a proven ability to foster growth in employee relations.Ability to generate commitment and motivate employees toward a common goal.Able to effectively work across the organization to create alignment and focus.Demonstrated track record of success in a complex and fast-paced performance-based manufacturing environment.Actively manage cost control processes to drive cost out and increase operational excellence.Demonstrated ability in leading a team to achieve breakthrough results.Working knowledge of the lumber and plywood operations, markets, financial, and employee relations concepts.Demonstrated results in achieving and sustaining business goals.Minimum RequirementsBachelor’s degree or higher; engineering, forestry, wood products, business or related degrees preferred.Minimum 8 years of successful manufacturing, maintenance, or operations leadership experience.The following requirements are preferred:Knowledge and experience improving manufacturing reliability.Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles.Knowledge of SAP.Wood products manufacturing experience preferred.Maintenance experience is a plus.We sustainably manage forests and manufacture products that make the world a better place. This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $139,200 to $208,800 based on your level of skills, qualifications, and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 25% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target. This position is also eligible to receive $32,000 in restrictive stock units on an annual basis, as part of our Long-Term Incentive Plan.Benefits:

Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.Paid Time Off or Vacation:

We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3 weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use.
