Torgeson Electric is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) Manager to lead our growing VDC team.

Job Description

The VDC Manager will be a go-to resource for the team, overseeing projects and ensuring successful implementation of VDC technologies across all phases of our electrical construction projects. This role will still involve hands-on work, utilizing VDC tools and processes, but will also require strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to mentor and develop junior VDC team members.

Req. Skills

5+ years of experience in VDC or electrical detailing (specialist experience preferred).

Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, and other VDC tools.

Experience leading VDC efforts for electrical construction projects.

Strong understanding of electrical systems, BIM modeling, clash detection, and project coordination.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Proven ability to manage schedules, communicate with foremen, and collaborate with other departments (Project Management, Engineering, etc.).

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.

Effective communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel for project data tracking and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the VDC team in developing, managing, and coordinating BIM models for electrical projects.

Act as the primary point of contact for VDC-related inquiries, providing expert support to team members and stakeholders.

Mentor and develop junior VDC specialists, fostering growth and skill development within the team.

Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure smooth integration of VDC processes.

Assist in the creation of detailed models for electrical systems, coordinating clash detection and resolving issues as needed.

Oversee the use of VDC tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, ensuring their efficient use in project execution.

Participate in and lead project coordination meetings, ensuring VDC alignment with project goals.

Stay current with industry trends and technologies, implementing improvements to VDC workflows.
