Preco is hiring a Procurement Manager for their Somerset, WI.

As a Procurement Manager, you will oversee the procurement of materials, supplies, and services required to meet the company’s production and operational needs. This role ensures the timely, cost-effective, and efficient sourcing of goods while maintaining the highest quality standards. The Procurement Manager will also manage inventory control and vendor relationships and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Preco is a leading designer and manufacturer of precision automated processing systems for high-speed and high-accuracy cutting, perforating, welding, and other specialized industrial processing applications. With our proprietary die cutting and laser-based manufacturing capabilities, Preco has also become one of the largest contract manufacturing service (CMS) providers in North America.

Job Responsibilities:

Purchasing and Procurement:

Develop and implement sourcing strategies to meet the company's production and operational requirements.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and value.

Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, parts, supplies, and equipment while maintaining quality standards.

Evaluate supplier performance regularly and initiate corrective actions when necessary.

Identify and qualify new suppliers to diversify the supply chain and mitigate risk.

Materials Management:

Oversee inventory management to ensure optimal stock levels and avoid shortages or excess inventory.

Develop and maintain an effective materials planning system that aligns with production schedules and demand forecasts.

Manage and monitor inventory turnover rates and recommend improvements to reduce holding costs.

Ensure proper tracking, storage, and handling of materials within the warehouse.

Vendor Management:

Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiate agreements, and ensure compliance with quality and delivery requirements.

Conduct regular vendor audits and assessments to ensure adherence to company standards.

Handle supplier-related issues, including performance, pricing discrepancies, or quality concerns.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work closely with production, engineering, finance, and quality teams to align procurement and material management with operational goals.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in procurement, materials management, or supply chain in a manufacturing environment.

Proven experience in vendor management, contract negotiation, and inventory control.

Experience in managing ERP/MRP systems for materials planning and purchasing.

Proficient in ERP/MRP systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement processes.

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Strong understanding of supplier compliance, quality control, and cost management in a manufacturing environment.

Occasional travel required visiting suppliers or attending industry events.
