We are looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst to join a specialty insurance company built on experience. This position is responsible for the overall quality of our underwriting systems. The scope of this role includes the comprehensive aspects of quality including testing documentation, planning and execution of testing, testing validation, and coordinating UAT testing and approval. In their role, the Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the product meets business requirements and overall business objectives by tracking and reporting quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status, as well as documenting problems and communicating the issue to development staff to assist in their resolution.Upland Capital Group, Inc. is an AM Best rated “A-” VIII specialty property/casualty insurer headquartered in Dallas, Texas. Through its wholly owned insurance carrier, Upland Specialty Insurance Company, the company markets, underwrites and services specialty insurance products in select markets to include excess transportation, construction casualty, excess casualty, primary general liability, excess public entity, professional liability errors and omissions as well as excess cyber liability.We focus on “old school” underwriting as a craft, add “new school” analytics and technology, and encourage a gritty, growth mindset among people called “we entrepreneurs.”Key Areas of Responsibilities:Design and execute test cases based on project requirements and objectivesProvide guidance and documentation to support user acceptance testingProvide system training, support, and release documentation on functionalityResponsible for triaging production issues to analyze, reproduce and escalate for resolutionServes as a technical liaison between the business unit to investigate requests, and facilitate the proper use of systemsPerform other duties as assignedSkills and Abilities Required:Extensive

knowledge of software and database testing including designing and manipulating test data,

validating stored jobs and error replicationMust be proficient in Microsoft

Office productsExperience with bug-tracking

tools such as JIRAExperience with databases and QA

automation tools desiredStrong analytical and

problem-solving skillsRequires strong oral and written

communication skillsRequires close attention to

detailMust be able to collaborate

cross-functionally with other teams and team membersEducation and Experience Required:Associate’s degree/Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent required5 years of experience as an analyst preferred1-3 years of experience in a commercial insurance environment highly preferred
