A Welder/Fabricator at Kemps Machine Company is responsible for reading and understanding fabrication & assembly instructions through blueprints, drawings and instructions from engineering, ensuring that the necessary materials are available, and taking precise measurements to ensure perfect alignment of components. They are expected to operate cutting tools to fabricate metal and use various welding machines to fuse metal components together. Ensuring safety and structural integrity is a top priority in the welds and metal structures and components.Key Responsibilities:Welding certifications are preferred but not mandatory. Extensive experience can serve as a substitute for certifications.Interpreting blueprints and drawings to determine the specifications and requirements of the task at hand.Cutting, shaping, and smoothing metal and other materials using hand tools, power tools, and machines.Welding components using various welding equipment based on the process requirements.Testing and inspecting welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.Maintaining equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.Utilize various welding processes including GMAW/MIG, GTAW/TIG, SMAW/STICK, FCAW, DUAL-SHIELD for welding projects, ensuring high-quality welds.Comfortable working with and welding various types of metals including carbon steel, stainless steel (various alloys), aluminum (various alloys), brass, bronze and copperWork on various fabrication projects involving structure metal, sheet metal and other materials.Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while operating power tools and equipment.Maintain accurate records of projects, including time logs, materials used, and any issues encountered.Accept and integrate constructive feedback to continuously improve performance and skills.Ability to hold and maintain standard shop tolerances of +/- 1/32 or betterQualifications:Experience:

Proven experience in fabrication and weldingSkills:

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage time efficiently.Independence:

Ability to work well independently and handle tasks with minimal supervision.Travel:

Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.Communication:
