Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) - Surgical Progressive Care Unit (SPCU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: IN or compact license required based on start date Certifications: ACLS and BCLS Must-Have: - Proficient in cardiac monitoring- Management of chest tubes and fresh tracheostomies- Feeding tube care and management- Care of post-operative patients- Management of epidurals and non-titratable cardiac drips- Experience with IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips- External BiPAP/CPAP proficiency- Total laryngectomy and Doppler flap checks Job Description: - Effective from a specified date, certain new contract restrictions apply.- Travelers are expected to work 2 out of the 3 holidays within their contract period.- Shift Requirements: 4x12 or 3x12 hours- Call-Ins: Travelers must make up missed days as per contract terms.- Weekends: Expected to work every other weekend, subject to unit needs.- Charge Nurse: May be required to cover charge nurse responsibilities.- Floating Requirements: May be required to float to different levels of care with provided resources if needed, across various affiliated hospitals.- Staffing Ratios: Generally 1:4 for patient care.- Surgical PCU: High acuity cases, nearing ICU levels, with a variety of surgical and medical overflow patients.- First-time travelers are accepted.- Completion of necessary modules prior to start is mandatory.This position does not require a COVID-19 vaccine, and flu vaccine status is unknown. Candidates must come from accredited universities and provide two supervisor references. Locals are generally not accepted for specified positions, and floating is required.
