Job Details:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual for the role of Permanent Controller - Property Accounting in the Finance industry. This exciting position is a key part of our finance team and plays a crucial role in the management and oversight of financial operations related to property accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of property accounting, including but not limited to, fixed assets, fund accounting, and general ledger (GL) operations. The role requires a deep understanding of grants and the ability to implement and maintain accounting systems and procedures to ensure accurate reporting and control.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all property accounting functions, including fixed assets, fund accounting, and general ledger operations.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Implement and maintain accounting systems and procedures in line with company policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage the grant process, including application, tracking, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely budgeting and financial forecasting.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Provide guidance and support to the finance team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure financial accuracy and integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the finance industry.
  • Proven experience with grants, fixed assets, fund accounting, and general ledger operations.
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
