Job Title: In-House Attorney

Job Summary:
Sandestin Investments LLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced in-house attorney to join our legal team. As the In-House Attorney, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal counsel to the company and its owners. You will serve as the first line of defense for all legal matters and will need to possess a broad range of expertise, including general contract law, employment law, development, construction, and real estate law.
Responsibilities:
• Provide legal advice and counsel to Sandestin Investments LLC and its employees on a wide range of legal matters.
• Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents to protect the company's interests and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Advise and assist in the development, construction, and real estate projects undertaken by the company.
• Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices related to development, construction, and real estate, and provide proactive legal advice to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support the company's legal strategies and decision-making.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel, as necessary, to handle complex legal matters and litigation.
• Develop and implement corporate policies, procedures, and compliance programs to ensure adherence to legal requirements.
• Provide legal guidance and support to the human resources department regarding employment law matters, including drafting employment agreements, reviewing policies, and managing employee-related legal issues.
• Manage legal disputes and claims, including negotiation, settlement discussions, and representation of the company in legal proceedings, if required.
• Provide legal training and education to employees to promote legal awareness and compliance.
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the state bar.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an attorney, preferably with a focus on corporate law, development, construction, and real estate law.
• Strong knowledge of general contract law, employment law, development, construction, and real estate law.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
