SecretPosition SummaryThe AV/VTC Technician will support the Department of State (DOS), European and Eurasian Affairs and International Organization (EUR-IO), providing support to other units and offices within the DOS to ensure the success of the program's mission. The performance of the AV/VTC Technician position is key to RavenTek’s performance on the DOS EUR-IO contract, and therefore RavenTek’s mission to support the Department of State.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for supporting Video Teleconferencing equipment.Responsible for working with vendors on repair of equipment.Responsible for working with telecommunications vendors when provisioning services for mobile devices.Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop applications to include Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Professional, and other desk applications as deemed appropriate.Manage Video Teleconferencing (VTC) support for our domestic customers.Responsible for setup, configuration, and scheduling of VTC conferences.Manage multiple video collaboration applications to include Zoom for Government, WebEx, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and other video collaboration platforms.Work closely with customers to ensure all VTC and associated equipment is operational and tested prior to an event.Work closely with VTC vendors upgrading, configuring and replacement of equipment as required.Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining bureau VTC systems and accessories.Responsible for supporting VTC conferences for both EUR and IO customers.Provide backup support for all makes and models of laptops.Provide backup support for inventory management of all mobile communication devices.Provide backup support to customers on problem resolution for mobile communications.Provide backup support for supporting teleworking personnel throughout the bureau on problem resolution and support.Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.Monitor and respond to RavenTek email a minimum of 3 times per week.Complete required compliance training as assigned.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical SkillsExperience configuring and supporting Microsoft Office 365.Hands-on experience supporting desktop hardware, software, and mobile devices.Management and coordination experience with large complex video/audio events.Experience with supporting Zoom for Government, WebEx, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and other video collaboration platforms.Excellent written and verbal communications, particularly with a customer focus.State Department specific experience supporting mobile communications and platforms is preferred.Education & Work ExperienceOver 3 years’ experience supporting VTC equipment.Over 3 years’ experience providing user support for VTC conferences and events.Over 3 years’ experience working with multiple hardware vendors.Special RequirementsSecret clearance required with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI.Work EnvironmentEmployee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.Physical DemandsTo successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. The ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb will be required for this position. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 40 pounds.
