AV/VTC Technician

As an A/V - VTC Technician, the individual will work with the Communications Team that provides voice, video, and VTC services to the National Defense University (NDU). The Lead Technician will be responsible for providing technical direction, resolving technical issues associated with the day-to-day operations of the Audio/Visual and Video Teleconferencing equipment, and implementing solutions. Additionally, the individual will plan, develop, test, install and maintain the A/V-VTC equipment for an enterprise-wide military network.#LI-DNIResponsibilitiesImplements and configures technologies, such as Cisco Telepresence, Vbrick, Crestron, Polycom, Cisco EX, DX, and C Series endpointsProvides training to team members and government staff to ensure knowledge continuity across technologies.Researches, plans, implements, and tests new technologies and frameworksServes as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a 35-room Crestron A/V Classroom solutions; coordinates with external vendors, as appropriateReviews, assesses, and approves external vendor technical workTroubleshoots unified collaboration calling in Cisco ISE for Skype and Microsoft Teams-enabled classroomsUtilizes knowledge of A/V-VTC suites on military networks to provide guidance in future communications planningAdvises management of remote teaching capabilities while suggesting new and innovative solutionsFacilitates and maintains VTC schedulesCoordinates with external sites for connection tests upon requestMaintains the main University VTC bridge; advises on Skype and Microsoft Teams integrationPerforms other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting officeRequired Qualifications/Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum five (5) years' of Audio Visual - VTC experiencePrevious experience using Cisco and/or PolycomActive Security + CertificationMust have and maintain a Public Trust or Security ClearancePreferred Qualifications/Education and ExperiencePolyCom or Cisco certification
